Websites You Own

I build websites for businesses that they can own and control. You can edit it yourself, move to any hosting provider, and never pay me again if you don't want to - or you can host with me at fair prices, with support included or not.

I'm Stef, a web developer with over 20 years of experience (including five years at Bandcamp.com and over a decade supporting local charities), based in Prestwich, Manchester. I use open source tools like Ruby on Rails and Eleventy to make sites that load fast, give you a solid technical foundation for search, and cost very little to host.

You get the complete source code for everything I build, delivered via GitHub. My own tools and templates are all open source (here's my code repository) - but your website doesn't have to be public if you don't want it to be. I have transparent, flat-rate pricing so you know exactly what you're paying for.

My rate is discounted 50% for charities, co-operatives, artists, musicians, and sustainable businesses.

I also write free guides about building websites and create online marketing advice videos to help you grow.

A business built to serve the community

Chobble is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), which means it's regulated to benefit the community rather than private shareholders.

In practice, that means: any surplus gets reinvested into reducing costs for community-focused clients, not extracted as private profit. I'm formally committed to serving small businesses, charities, co-operatives, and community organisations, especially in Greater Manchester.
