Staging Events are a stage, PA, and mass participation equipment hire company covering events nationwide. They provide full event production - stage hire, PA systems, generators, gantries, trussing, barriers and crew - from a 25,000 sq ft warehouse, with over 25 years in the industry.
Blocks layout
This site leans heavily on the Chobble Template's "blocks" layout system. The homepage isn't a single chunk of markdown - it's composed from structured content blocks defined in YAML frontmatter: a video-background hero, a split-image services intro, a logo marquee snippet for their charity clients, a four-up features grid, a horizontal product slider pulling from their equipment collection, a stats counter, a dark "notable events" features block, and a gradient CTA. Almost every section on the homepage is a block. That gives the site a properly designed feel - sliders, counters, video backgrounds and the lot - without any custom code or theme work.
Charity sector specialism
Staging Events specialise in mass participation events for the charity sector - they handle Alzheimer's Society's Memory Walk (110,000 participants over a 7-week period), Prostate Cancer UK's March for Men, and work with Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, CoppaFeel!, Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Epilepsy Society. They didn't get the charity discount from me - they're a commercial hire company rather than a registered charity - but I think they got pretty good value for money anyway.
Editing and support
The site uses PagesCMS for content editing - pages, products, categories, news, reviews, team and clients are all editable through a friendly web interface, no markdown required. Because Staging Events pay for ongoing support, they can also send any larger changes my way and I'll handle them. The blocks system means I can rearrange a homepage or add a new section in minutes rather than rebuilding a template.
Hosting and performance
Like all Chobble Template sites, this is hosted on Bunny CDN for fast global delivery. The static-site build means there's no database, no server-side rendering, and nothing to patch or maintain. Builds run automatically through GitHub Actions on every content change, and the responsive image pipeline keeps page weight down even with the photo-heavy product catalogue.
The site also gets periodic updates as I improve the base Chobble Template, and comes with the usual extras I set up for hosted clients - privacy-respecting GoatCounter analytics, a Purelymail email setup, and Google Search Console for tracking search performance.
